Queen’s University to do research on autism
I received this e-mail and thought I would share it with parents and adults who have autism spectrum disorder. They are looking for “volunteers” who live in the Kingston, Ontario region of Ontario, Canada. They ask that those who are interested, contact the university directly. Here is the announcement:
MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN UNDERSTANDING ASD!
ASD Studies at Queen’s University is a non-profit group of researchers interested in understanding the development of children, adolescents, and adults with and without Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Specifically,we hope to contribute to a greater understanding of the difficulties in communication, language, and social interaction in individuals with ASD.
WE NEED HELP! We are currently looking to recruit participants ranging from 18 months of age to adulthood with or without ASD in the Kingston, Ontario region. Most of our studies involve one or two hour-long visits, and free parking is provided! During this time, participants may be involved in fun, age-appropriate tasks such as:
-
watching actors or videos,
-
answering questions, and
-
participating in hands-on activities.
Parents are invited to be present throughout the study and siblings are more than welcome to participate too! If anyone is interested in participating or would like more information please call the ASD Studies Lab at (613) 533-2894 or (613) 533-2841. Alternatively, people can e-mail the university directly at: asd.studies@queensu.ca
